Ms. Mason is a former clinician with over 20 years in acute and post-acute healthcare marketing. As a healthcare sales and marketing professional she led development and implementation of corporate marketing functions in established entities, start-ups and turnarounds. She now consults and is committed to preparing students for greater success in the healthcare industry..
Ms. Mason began her healthcare career as a cytotechnologist and histotechnologist in the pathology laboratory, before entering marketing as a Physician Relations Coordinator for a large metropolitan hospital. From there she advanced to Director of Marketing, Regional Director of Marketing, Chief Marketing Officer, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for healthcare corporations specializing in post-acute care. Ms. Mason transitioned into academics in 2012 as a Visiting Instructor and progressed through Assistant and Associate Professor positions to Program Director in Healthcare Administration where her responsibilities included the EMHA, MHA, and BSHA programs along with Health Justice and Community Health Investment Certificates, as well as proposing an ASHA expected to begin in January of 2022.
Dr. Mason earned a Doctor of Health Sciences from A.T. Still University (Mesa, Arizona), a Master of Health Services Administration from the College of St. Francis (Joliet, Illinois), and a Bachelor of Science from Murray State University (Murray, Kentucky). She completed programs in Assisted Living Management and Long-Term Care Administration and was formerly licensed as a nursing facility administrator in Texas. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Dr. Mason’s research interests include employer-employee expectations and fit, including value-based recruitment, professionalism, and job satisfaction.
Mr. White began his career as a group insurance underwriter and progressed to roles including Director of Network Management for health plans, Director of Managed Care for a healthcare system and Vice President of Operations for an independent practice association.
He has been on both the provider and payer side of the table for commercial insurance, workers' compensation, Medicare Advantage and Managed Medicaid HMO and PPO plans with a proven track record of completing "win-win" relationships.
He holds an MBA from the University of Dallas and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Houston.
He is licensed in Texas as a General Lines agent in Life, Accident, Health and HMO Insurance Sales as well as a Texas licensed Life and Health Insurance Counselor.
Mr. White has achieved Fellow designation in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), participating in the North Texas Chapter, member of the North Texas Chapter Membership & Networking Committee and is a member of the Lone Star Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
